Just the one trip again this year, and once again, we're having to work around the ongoing Covid restrictions.
To provide some chronologial context in this regard, we were now at a point where schools, non-essential businesses and (thankfully) pubs had re-opened following the second, winter wave, but we had not yet reached "Freedom Day", when all rules surrounding mask-wearing and social distancing would be scrapped – and Freedom Day had already been pushed back by a month thanks to the new and nastier Delta variant, which had recently and swiftly become the dominant strain in the UK.
We were happy to put our faith in AstraZeneca's finest vaccines though, and a sunny June day saw us set out on our long-awaited and much-needed outdoor adventure, once again via London Paddington, and then on to Barnstaple via a change at Exeter.
